The CMAS (California Multiple Award Schedule) Program uses existing competitively
awarded government contracts to create the basis for the procurement needs of the
State of California. To be considered for the CMAS Program, an existing contract
must be awarded by the Federal Government or any other governmental entity in any
state and awarded using a competitive process. In addition, all businesses wishes
to do business with the state must be registered with the Secretary of State at
www.sos.ca.gov.
The majority of CMAS contracts are created from already existing GSA (General
Service Administration) Contracts. GSA awards contracts by competitive procurement
procedures for more than 50 schedules that cover multiple industries. For more information
on CMAS: http://www.pd.dgs.ca.gov/cmas/default.htm
If your company has an already existing GSA Contract, then it makes it that much easier to obtain a CMAS Contract from the State of California. If your company does not have a GSA Contract in place, Mercury Consulting can help you. Please see Mercury's GSA Consulting Services.
CMAS does not require your company to have your own GSA Contract to obtain a CMAS
Contract. Contractors can use GSA Contracts of other contractors to create basis
for their CMAS contract as long as you can find another contractor that is similar
in nature to their business with acceptable rates.
Mercury Consulting offers CMAS Consulting Services on an hourly or flat fee basis.
